Riven Earth vanquish group:
Backstory is that we were already halfway through when a couple of people disconnected. Party decided to continue on, because - well, restarting = ouch when you're already more than halfway through Riven Earth.
The dervish was one heck of a Leeroy, and we kept telling him to flag his Tahlkora back and he simply refused to. She became Seed of Life bait instead. On top of that, you can imagine how many times I had to rez the fellow because he kept running in only to die.
Then the absolute jewel of a remark from the dervish:
"Hey, Riven Earth sure is one hard vanquish, isn't it?"
Well, yeah, I wonder why!
Quote:
The MM's minions lasted more than him. And the MM was a minion bomber. At least he worked as bait.
|
And a really good supplier of corpses, too...
Also, an oldie but a goodie, from the Ursan era:
"Ranger pull?"
"...I didn't bring my bow..."
"Why not?"
"I didn't think I'd need it."

My all time favorite was in Gates of Kryta.
I was trudging thru the prophecies missions on a new character and pugging whenever feasible. I got a Pug for Gates of Kryta and this sure was a dysfunctional group. We had a necro leader and a rather young warrior who constantly asked questions the whole way thru.
What's that sword? Where'd you get it? What does it cost? Do you have an extra? Can i have it? How much damage does it do? Oooh, an Earth wand drop? Can I have it? What's a Mergoyle? Is this close to Droks? Are there shells on this beach? Why is that pig following us?
Sigh, he got on our nerves, but not nearly as much as our fearless leader. He had a thing for mergoyle skulls for some reason. Everytime a mergoyle skull dropped, he started in with "can i have it??? Please?? Please, can I have it???? I need mergoyle skulls!!! Please, give it to me. I'll pay you!!!" Every time a skull dropped we had to stop for 5 minutes of begging "canihaveit".
But, here's the good part........ This was a level 18 necro begging for the skulls so I said he should just go outside to Scoundrel's Rise and farm for them. His response was, "I can't!!! This is a PvP only character and I can't reach Scoundrel's Rise, so I need yours!!"
Um, did i mention this was during Gates of Kryta?

Wow some of these are very impressively amusing. I'll have to think hard to do better lol. I was reminded of this from an earlier post. Once I was helping out people after I just finished vanquishing lornars pass, stopped in beacons and picked up some guys headed to LA. I wanted to run it but they insisted we fight so they could get exp. W/E I had nothing better to do (it was NM so I knew it would be quick). They spent the whole trip having lengthy conversations with my heroes. I played along and told them their keyboard was broken and I would relay the messages. When it was over they said goodbye and thanked us (heroes included) and said they would add the heroes to friends since they were so good. I swear I nearly pee'd my pants laughing. One more was during a JQ fight. This one pathetic sin got destroyed by me once and wasted the whole match hunting me down and screaming at me in local chat (which I keep turned off to avoid such stupidity) until the end when one of my teammates told me. I quickly scanned back through the chat and saw it all. Then I said to him: "oh sorry man I missed all that can you repeat it?" A few seconds later I was reported for verbal abuse or something stupid (99% chance it was him). That was the only time I have ever seen the opposing team apologize to me

As part of my weekly charity work I was monking for a pug in TKH. There was this annoying wammo that kept rushing in and he would already sprint into the next mob while the group was still finishing off the last one. After he caused an overaggro I was getting rather low on energy and pinged my energy so to let them know (0/35,).
When the wammo saw this he went 'omg noob monk' in team chat and ragequit on the group...
Ofcourse we just went on without him and finished with bonus anyways.

Kinda related I guess:
Was on my new monk, getting a run to Granite because I'm lazy like that and we picked up some people, not really important. Runner asks twice if we all have our money before leaving, and everyone replies yes. He states that 1/2 way we pay him 1/2 and the rest at Granite.
So we get to the 1/2 way point, and we all pay except for a Ranger. He pleads with us, saying he was last in the group and didn't have time for the money. I saw this as a scam already and didn't mind if we turned back to kick him but the leader trusted him ( :3 ). The ranger promised to pay full at Granite.
So when we get there the ranger, believing he outsmarted us all despite me repeatedly saying he was going to scam us, says one of the stupidest things I've heard in the context of the situation.
"F***ING NOOBS LOL"
and leaves the party.
I rarely go out of my way to report people, but this guy just pissed me off. The leader was one of those rare trusting type of guys and didn't deserve this. I paid for the scammers part of the run then proceeded to screenshot everything and send it to Anet. Then I get back this.

Not the stupidest, but the most recent...FA joyness; a few seconds after the match had begun:
We went on to win the match within a minute or two after he said that though...He carried us the whole match

Probably a guildie trying to convince me that Flare spamming was excellent. Additionally, he's an E/R with four points invested into Beast Mastery for a pet he always brings along. :x

Today I was doing Destruction's Depths and the party leader was a D/Me. He was an absolute build dictator and a bad one at that. He told two of our Monks to go RoJ with no explaination and insisted that healing in HM could be done by one healer. Eventually I asked him to ping and this was his build:
Yeah so then he insisted that it would be quicker to get to DD from Olafstead than EoTN, despite the fact that Battledepths is only a few steps away and that we'd have to fight less.
Naturally his leet build and our lack of healing killed us and so he called us all noobs and left. The rest of us regrouped at EoTN and totally smashed DD no problem. I guess I'm not meant to roll with elite players. *shrug*

That guy... is probably the same guy whom I met in Gate of Madness. Or at least someone similarly stupid XD.
The one I met was saying "Running to Gate of Anguish! 1k per person!" I kinda thought he might be a scammer so I asked him how he was gonna get there without map travelling. He said that he knows a secret way to get there from gate of madness. I lol'd and said that if he could prove it I'd give him 10 k.
He then took me on a run and ran around inside the mission... for 30 minutes... he then started saying shit like "OMG WHERE IS IT?" And such. I didn't laugh WITH him XD
